ABOUT
The Rescue Dog Trainer
The person behind The Rescue Dog Trainer is Sophie Peacock, a passionate advocate of the rescue dog. Sophie started working in a rescue shelter alongside a boarding kennels and cattery in the beginning of her career 20 years ago. From then on, Sophie has worked for several small rescue organisations and even started her own animal rescue in 2005 saving dogs on death row, stray dogs in the pound and after hearing cats were in a similar position, started rescuing them also offering rescue and rehabilitation through training and behaviour and rehoming the dogs and cats where possible. Some of the ones that couldn't live a normal life are still with Sophie at her sanctuary. Sophie followed her dream of working with animals, becoming an animal welfare officer and dog warden as a paid position while running her rescue for 12 years until finally becoming self-employed. Sophie has constantly been doing animal welfare, training and behaviour courses throughout her career with some of the best trainers and animal courses using up to date scientific methods in both force free and positive reinforcement.

As a self-employed animal professional, Sophie has many strings to her belt including working with pet dogs in training and behaviour, a Licence Inspector for several Local Authorities, handler for dangerous dog assessments, pet sitting and dog walking but her niche is rescue dogs and their owners.
